How prayer drives PR success

How prayer drives PR success

I come from at least 3 generations of dreamers on my mum’s side. My grandma was a dreamer, mum is and so am I in that our dreams tend to be meaningful and/or prophetic.

In November 2016, I went to bed one Saturday night and woke up on Sunday to the sound of my friend and “big brother,” Daryl, calling me. As soon as he asked how I was, I said “I think God wants me to start a blog”.

I don’t remember all the details of the dream now, but I remember that I felt that I should be interviewing other Christian women to get their views on their favourite women of the Bible and so on in order to dismantle traditional norms around womanhood. Why? Because I saw a Human’s of New York style platform in my dream very vividly and I remembered every detail at the time- which is usually a sign that my dream means something or is about to come true.

Voicing that out loud is what led me to actually beginning the process of launching my platform because Daryl, also being spiritual’s, response was “Well, I don’t know why you’re still on the phone to me. Get started and don’t call me back unless you’ve got results”. Knowing that he was deadly serious and that he’d cuss me out if I didn’t make a move, I got to work.

3 tools for overcoming limiting beliefs holding you back from PR success

Last week I mentioned that one of the common mistakes that people make, when it comes to mindset work, is thinking that it's a one-time thing

This is because, in the same way that real gardens need maintenance to ensure that weeds don't get out of hand, so do our minds

I also promised that I would give you some of the tips and tricks that I like to use for renewing my mind on a regular basis and that you can too

So here they are:

Lessons from esther on how to increase your visibility by transforming your mindset

Lessons from esther on how to increase your visibility by transforming your mindset

In my previous post, I talked about Hegai (the King’s eunch’s) role in helping Esther secure the crown

Click here if you missed that, sis

But that wasn’t the main thing that made the King choose her

“So, what was?!” I hear you ask

According to Esther 2:15 and 17, it was favour
So let’s break that down

When I hear the word “favour” it immediately puts me in mind of the concept of grace

Why?

Because grace is by definition “the unmerited favour of God”

In other words…

Without the belief that:

  1. You have God’s favour

  2. He will cause people to favour you also

  3. He made you “for such a time as this”

You won’t go towards your goals or the desires that He gave you

Because we go in the direction of of our beliefs

We see that play out in Esther 4:10-11 when Esther expressed fear of going to see the king about calling off the proposed genocide of her people

And…

We see it in modern day stats that show that women feel less at ease going for their goals by promoting themselves than men- which in turn means that they're less likely to do it.

Can you relate, sis?

What needs to be understood is that walking in God’s favour is a lifestyle that is born out of your mindset. Here are 4 tools that I use to develop it.

Lessons from Ruth on how to keep showing up (even when you don't feel like it)

Lessons from Ruth on how to keep showing up (even when you don't feel like it)

A few weeks ago, I made mention of the fact that Ruth could have followed Naomi (her mother-in-law) to Bethlehem and chosen to do nothing but wallow in the house

Because, let’s face it, she had every excuse to- having lost her father and brother-in-law and become a widow herself. But she didn’t.

Instead of checking out of life, like Naomi did initially, Ruth decided that she would keep going and keep pushing forward for them both

Which, unless you missed my last 2 blog posts (here and here), you’ll know that Ruth’s decision to go work in the fields led to her marrying Boaz. birthing children and becoming one of Jesus' fore-mothers (Ruth 4:13-22; Matthew 1:1-16).

Which then begs the question: how do we as modern women keep showing up even when we don’t want to?

Especially when life happens, PMS happens or (from a business point of view) tech/staff issues happen- meaning that you don't always feel physically, mentally and/or emotionally able to put yourself out there and remain visible.

Lessons from the Israelite Women on How to Claim your Dreams

Lessons from the Israelite Women on How to Claim your Dreams

Raise your hand if:

  • You know you're significant and that, like Esther, God made you "for such a time as this"?

  • God has already confirmed this to you by showing you what that significant thing about you is (your purpose)?

  • Your purpose involves turning the gifts, talents and passions that He gave you into profits by using them to serve others (business)?

BUT you’re also not sure how to make this manifest…

Well, the Israelite women in Exodus 3 give us 3 simple steps that will help you do exactly that- all of which I shared on my Facebook page this week via the (live) video below.

Lessons from 3 Biblical women on How to Abide in God

Lessons from 3 Biblical women on How to Abide in God

Last week, while talking about what The Woman with the Issue of Blood teaches us about how to live by faith, I mentioned that one of the things that she demonstrates about living a life of faith is that it requires steadfastness. I mean the fact that she waited 12 years to be healed and never gave up hope says it all, right?

Right!

I then went on to say that this whole concept of remaining steadfast reminded me of John 15:7, a scripture that I had literally been studying obsessively recently, which says:

"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you"

But- because I had other points to get through- I couldn't break this scripture all the way down the way I wanted to; so I promised to do it later.

Well, lovely, this week I did!

And not only did I talk about 3 different strategies regarding how to abide in God, I also talked about not 1; not 2 but 3 different female Biblical examples of this. Namely:

  1. The Woman with the Issue of Blood

  2. Sarah

  3. Anna

All of which I shared on my Facebook page this week via the (live) video below.
