Lessons from Esther on why how you do one thing is how you do everything

James 1:23-24 says that the word of God is like a mirror

Because “if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was…”

Walking in purpose, especially if it involves entrepeneurship, is something that also holds a mirror up and reveals what’s on the inside of us

This is something that we see in the life of Esther

Before she was told that she had been placed in the palace “for such a time a this;” to save her people’s lives (Esther 4:14)-

Her initial reaction to purpose was fear of going against the grain

“All the king’s servants and the people of the king’s provinces know that any man or woman who goes into the inner court to the king, who has not been called, he has but one law: put all to death, except the one to whom the king holds out the golden scepter, that he may live. Yet I myself have not been called to go in to the king these thirty days.” she said (Esther 4:11)

It’s also something that I’ve seen with clients- whether it’s a lack of trust of other women holding them back from building profitable relationships or self-esteem issues causing them to shrink back from being visible as a true thought leader, like this >>

The issue? How you do one thing is how you do everything!

Or-

To quote something my good sis, Kendra Q. Dodd (pictured with me) said in a recent interview

”You can’t say, I’m going to leave trust issues right here and now I’m going to go network…That monkey, that virus will attach onto you and you will bring it with you. You cannot silo your different lives. [For example] If you can’t handle rejection from a four year old- and you’re the parent and you’re the adult- you’re definitely not going to be able to handle it from a colleague. It crosses over”.

(She is a consultant, speaker; life and career strategist; so she knows a thing or too by the way)

In other words, unresolved personal trauma can thwart your purpose- especially in business. This is why it’s super important to find the source and cut it out at the root for the sake of healing

More on how soon
